Square Inch Pricing

I charge 3 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x $0.03 = $144.

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I currently stock batting in an 80/20 cotton/poly blend for $0.30/linear inch and bamboo blend batting for $0.36/linear inch.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice. 65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend at $0.30/in = $19.50

Other batting options are available by request.

Thread

I stock both Glide #40 threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.

My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Minnesota, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in a water proof bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. For an additional charge, I can assist with preparation of backing, as well as making and/or binding your finished quilt. Pricing is available on the Quilting intake form.

Minnesota Residents: I'm required by the State of Minnesota to collect sales tax on all quilting services, batting, shipping, and any design/pantograph fees.
